Sheltered within its walls, the two-and-a-half hectare estate of the painter Ernest Hébert (1817-1908) has stood the test of time. The artist's house has retained the spirit of the place and the intimate character of a family home. The garden, with its mix of light and shade, is still imbued with the Italian memories of the artist, who was twice director of the Villa Medici in Rome.
