A major archaeological site (excavated between 1978 and 1995) located in one of Grenoble's oldest districts, the Saint-Laurent archaeological museum takes you on a journey through almost two thousand years of history.
From the 4th-century necropolis to the 19th-century church, Saint Laurent has stood the test of time, preserving, as if in a great open book, the cumulative traces of history since the origins of Christianity.
Visitors plunge into the heart of a funerary and religious site famous for its 6th-7th century monument: the Saint-Oyand crypt.
The memory of this place and the people who inhabited it is brought to life using digital technology to enhance the evocative power of the remains, which bear witness to changes in burial practices, beliefs and mentalities.
Cross the Isère and discover almost twenty centuries of Grenoble's history!
