Since 1957, the Grande Chartreuse museum's mission has been to speak to the life of the Carthusian monks. Because they withdrew to the end of the valley to find the solitude and silence necessary for their contemplation, they cannot open their monastery to the public. Therefore, this is the purpose of the museum, organized in the former house of the brothers, a small authentic monastery until the 17th century.

- Open: 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

- Ticket office closes 45 minutes before the Museum

Explore their history and architecture. At the end of the visit, our new boutique welcomes you to discover Carthusian products, as well as those of other monastic communities.
