Initiated over fifty years ago by former members of the Resistance, deportees and teachers, the Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation de l'Isère is a museum of history and society, designed with education and transmission in mind. It sheds light on the history of the Second World War, based on local events and experiences, and presents the causes and consequences of the conflict in chronological order. It also helps visitors to understand how the Resistance came into being, and the individual choices that led to it, and highlights the scale of the suffering and sacrifice of those who fought to restore the Republic.

Musée de la résistance et de la déportation
The Isère Resistance and Deportation Museum explores both history and society. Designed with an educational mission, it explains and imparts the history of the Second World War based on local events and personal experiences. Firmly anchored in the present day however, it allows visitors to question the lessons that our society can draw from history.
