The Musée dauphinois, located on the slopes of the Bastille in Grenoble, in the convent of Sainte-Marie d'en-Haut, is part of the close relationship it maintains with the original and adopted inhabitants of the Dauphiné Alps, as well as with visitors passing through. As well as being a place for investigating all periods of Alpine history, it is also a place for reflecting on our times. Each year, two or three exhibitions, always accompanied by publications, conferences and debates, explore in turn the fields of archaeology, regional, rural or industrial heritage.
The G-PASS offer:
- The G-PASS is not required: the Musée Dauphinois is part of the network of 11 museums of the Département de l'Isère, and is free to all.

Le regard de Jacques Henri Lartigue traverse le 20e siècle. Né au sein d'une famille aisée, il profite des avantages de sa condition pour voyager dans le monde tout au long de son existence.
C'est son amour du sport qui lui fait découvrir les Alpes au temps des premières stations de ski de Saint-Moritz et de Chamonix à la veille de la Première Guerre mondiale. Il n'a pas vingt ans. Photographiant les personnalités de l'époque que sa vie mondaine le conduit à côtoyer, il s'attache surtout aux portraits de ses proches, auxquels il consacre d'importantes séries.
Esthète, Lartigue a le don pour saisir le beau chez ses contemporains, comme il donne à voir l'évolution des toilettes de la haute société et des vedettes aux sports d'hiver. Parfois, il pose devant son propre objectif, nous livrant les traits d'un homme enjoué et facétieux.
Bien plus tard, dans les années 60, tandis que son travail artistique connaît une notoriété internationale, c'est dans le village d'Opio, au pied des Alpes méridionales, qu'il trouve refuge tandis qu'il retrouve l'hiver les sommets enneigés du massif du Mont-Blanc.
