Created in 1983 by the Département of Isère to mark the bicentenary of the French Revolution in 1989, the Musée de la Révolution française offers a new perspective on a pivotal period in the history of France, based on the artistic production it generated at the time and since. Housed in the Domaine de Vizille, where the French Revolution has been celebrated for the past two centuries, the museum aims to awaken critical thinking and provide a perspective on the arts and history. By linking events to their context and their representations, it invites visitors to lift the veil of appearances and go beyond the false evidence conveyed by preconceived ideas, myths and propaganda.

The G-PASS offer:

  • The Musée de la Révolution Française is part of the network of 11 museums of the Département de l'Isère, and is free to all: the G-PASS is not required to visit the museum.
