Museum of the old bishop
Situated in Grenoble’s historic centre, the former bishop’s palace has become a showcase for a museum in which the history and heritage of the Isère shine. In the basement, the archaeological remains of the baptistery plunge the visitor into the heart of the early Christian era. On the upper floors, the exhibition L’Isère en histoire tells the story of the women and men of the region, from prehistoric times to the present day.
Opening hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9am to 6pm
- Wednesday from 1 pm to 6 pm
- Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 6pm
- The garden opens 30 min after the museum and closes 30 min before.
- From the last Sunday in October to the last Sunday in March, it closes at 5 pm.
- Exceptional closures on January 1, May 1 and December 25.

Museum de l'Ancien Évêché
