Fiesta Junina
Lien copié !From 6 to 7 June 2026
FreeCome celebrate the Festa Junina, a popular festival from Northeast Brazil, with us on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Minimistan in Grenoble! One of Brazil’s greatest cultural expressions is the June festivals in the Northeast. Marked by the feast days of Saint Anthony, Saint John, and Saint Peter, these celebrations take place throughout Brazil. The most important and traditional June festivals occur in cities across the Northeast, featuring diverse traditions that boost tourism, culture, and the region’s economy between June and July. Their emergence was influenced by festivals that appeared in 16th-century Europe. Initially considered pagan, these festivities celebrated the fertility of the land and bountiful harvests at the summer solstice, and also aimed to ward off evil spirits and plagues afflicting the European continent. The June festivals take place during the period when, in rainy years, the land bears fruit in the Northeast—it’s no wonder the festivities are filled with corn-based products! The moist soil dispels the fear of drought that has plagued the region for years and gives way to celebrations of abundance, accompanied by plenty of forró. The program: 🟠 12 PM–2 PM: Brazilian meal & traditional cakes and desserts 🟠 12 PM–5 PM: Fair & entertainment 🟠 3 PM: Fleur de Maracuja concert 🟠 6 PM: Quadrilha 🟠 7 PM: Forro Banzaï concert 🟠 9:00 PM: Introduction to forró 🟠 10:00 PM–12:00 AM: DJ set with Medhi 🎶 Come join us for 12 hours of partying! Great music, lively dancing, games, and a friendly atmosphere at this famous party!
