From the mine to the factory, ‘Batteries’ immerses us in a world where we interact with objects to better understand how they work. Across four themed sections exploring their production, how they function, their uses and the debates surrounding them, the perspectives of various stakeholders in the sector intersect, prompting us to examine their political, economic and societal impacts. How far will batteries enable us to travel, to participate in the energy transition, and at what cost? The Batteries exhibition arrives at La Casemate in Grenoble following its run in Paris. An initiative supported by the State as part of the ‘Skills and Professions of the Future’ call for expressions of interest under the France 2030 Programme, operated by the Caisse des Dépôts.
